Welcome to Bowling!
Ladies and gentlemen, grab your balls! Bowling is
up and running again every Saturday from 3 pm-5 pm. For $5 per week,
come and enjoy an afternoon of fun filled activity!
The ACCM Bowling League has been in existence for
many years. It began as a way for People living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs)
and their caregivers to get together on a weekly basis and participate
in an activity that is fun, inexpensive, gives people a chance to
meet others and is a source of exercise. Since 1996, the Drop In
Resource Centre has supervised this weekly activity, managing the
coordinators, handling the funds collected by the group and helping
to arrange both league meetings and the end of season party.
In an effort to include as many PHAs in the Montreal community as
possible, ACCM opened up the Bowling League to other community groups'
clients in 1998, and began advertising at CPAVIH and Maison Plein
Coeur.
To be even more inclusive, this year the bowling
team members unanimously decided that Bowling League should be open
to anyone in the community that would like to meet others, friends
and partners of PHAs. They will be referred to as associate members.
Should the bowling team become too large, priority will be given
to people living with HIV.
This year, the Bowling League has moved to another
location. For more information about registration and/or the location,
please contact the Drop In Resource Centre at (514) 529-9462. We
look forward to an exciting new year!
See you on the lanes!
